Hi, My canary gets very stressed when taken to a friend when I go
away. I have to go away for the most of 2 days and 1 night and I would
like to know if It would be better to leave him at home alone.

I would think it would be ok as long as you leave him with plenty of
food and water. Also keeping a radio on, low volume, might help him not
feel so alone.

Thank you, I have bought a timer to turn the radio on and off and he
will have plenty of food & water.

I'd suggest you inform someone locally who you trust who can access
your house that the bird is there and tell them when you'll be back. It
would be a shame for the bird to starve if for some reason you didn't
return home as scheduled. They don't have to do anything if you return
as planned.

Yes indeed, Louis is right! It completely slipped my mind! I have a
friend that will do this for me in case I need her :-)

Thank you all and I followed all your advice, he was pleased to see us
and and perfectly OK when we got back, much less stressed than if i
took him to a friend. Thanks for putting my mind at ease as I was
concerned about leaving him.
